The government of the state of Quintana Roo has created a certification system for tourism providers to ensure everyone's health and safety. All our crew: guides, captains, boat crew and drivers have taken courses and we have been certified by the IMSS (Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social, The Mexican Institute of Social Security), the governmental organization of public health and social security from the Secretariat of Health to be able to go back to work safely and to protect ourselves and our guests from COVID-19.

We don't want you to worry about your health and safety when you go on a tour with us, so we are of course following all local and national government regulations, safety guidelines and protocols about hygiene and safe travels provided by the World Health Organization (WHO) and other leading organizations in the tourism industry.

The protocol below is based on input from the World Travel and Tourism Council about the healthy and responsible reopening of tour operations to the public. It takes into account guidelines of the World Health Organisation (WHO), the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC).

According to the official government rules, the maximum number of guests we can take is 4 - 10 persons per boat, depending on the tour.

For your safety and peace of mind, we are only taking small groups (maximum 10 persons) or private tours (so just your own family or group) at the moment.

We will ask you for a self-assessment of symptoms one or two days before the planned excursion. If you sense symptoms you will be invited to reconsider taking the tour. We have a flexible cancellation or rescheduling policy of up to 24 hours before the start of the tour.

At the pickup, we use a digital laser (no touch) thermometer to measure the temperature of all participants. Any reading above 38°C (100°F) is considered suspicious. If this is the case, we will repeat the measure of temperature to double check. If the verified reading is positive, you will be asked not to board the van with your group and we encourage you to contact a doctor for review and care.

We provide sanitizing wipes and hand sanitizer with minimum 70% alcohol that is available to you throughout the day.

Wash your hands frequently and try to avoid touching your face and unnecessary surfaces as much as possible.

Guests, driver and guide need to wear face masks for the entire journey.

The boat and the transportation unit will be sanitized before and after each service with water and disinfectant. Frequently touched surfaces will be cleaned regularly.

We provide sanitized snorkel equipment on each tour (however we strongly recommend that you take your own equipment - especially mask and snorkel - if you have it). Our snorkel gear will be and has always been washed with water and soap and disinfectants after each tour. Some authorities advise single use snorkels, but we prefer to not offer them because most times they don’t fit properly which makes them uncomfortable and unpleasant to use. Besides, they usually get thrown away which causes pollution and more plastic garbage.

We kindly request that you bring your own refillable water bottle, so that we don't have to use single use plastic bottles.

We always try to be the first ones to arrive and in that way we avoid the crowds.
