Ship Wreck Dive Playa del Carmen

Dives in and around shipwrecks are among the most spectacular dives in the region. There are several wrecks at various dive sites in the Riviera Maya. In Playa del Carmen lies the shipwreck “Mama Viña”, an old shrimp boat that was deliberately sunk in 1995 for divers. We can admire how nature has taken over the ship: the surface is covered with a large number of corals, inside we find schools of silver-colored fish, which, along with moray eels, lobsters and other animals, have taken the boat as their permanent home.
